In 2017, I decided to begin my annual tradition of halloween-inspired styled shoots. Fall is my favorite time of year, and I love how we can turn an ordinary Iowa backdrop into a spooky scene.
Pulling this off, we were complete amateurs—don’t look too closely at the skeleton hand bones, or you’ll see this skeleton has more than a radius and ulna. But the overcast skies added to the eery atmosphere. I remember feeling completely frozen when we were finished, so Kelsey and I stopped for hot cocoa and cider at our favorite local coffee shop where her skeleton makeup startled more than one person.
My goal is to continue creating halloween-inspired shoots every year as a creative challenge to push me and my talents and collaborate with fun artists and creatives. Just wait til you see what 2020 has in store.
