Most people don’t know that I offer sessions for maternity photos. I mostly photograph weddings these days, but being invited into your lives for a maternity photo session is nothing short of miraculous.
I felt tears welling in my eyes when I read Hannah’s text– “I’m pregnant!” My high school bestie gets to be a mom, and I couldn’t be happier or prouder. We started dreaming and scheming ways to see each other again, and I realized, I was only a short, cheap plane ride away. I was already in Arizona for a wedding this past summer, so I extended my trip by adding a flight to San Francisco to visit my friend and her husband–and squeeze in some maternity photos on the beach.
Without further ado, meet Hannah + Jonah:
I have photographed Hannah and Jonah’s engagement and wedding. Watching them grow together and love each other through the years has been truly magical. I’m so grateful we chose to make time for maternity photos at the beach while I stayed with them.
Reconnecting with these two dear friends was seamless. It felt like no time had passed at all, though in reality, it had been years since we’d seen each other in person. They were the most gracious hosts. They encouraged me to rest and relax, knowing I was in the middle of my busiest wedding season ever. It is so precious and beautiful to be loved well by your friends.
So, dressed in birks and skirts, we headed out to Montara Beach for maternity photos. This is the joy and the magic that unfolded.
We live in such a beautiful world. I’m grateful for all the opportunities to travel, rest, explore, and photograph. Since taking their maternity photos, Hannah and Jonah have welcomed their beautiful daughter into this world. I’m proud to be considered Auntie to this sweet, tiny human. I am most excited for the opportunity to photograph the three of them next summer.
