One sunny fall weekend in Orange City, Iowa, Maddie + Caleb planned their dream wedding celebration. It all began with a heartwarming welcome dinner at Sfumato’s Pizza, followed by delightful desserts at Blue Bunny Ice Cream. As friends and family indulged in ice cream, laughter and love filled the air as heartfelt toasts, stories, memories, and blessings were shared. It was endearing to hear all their friends share and see both sides of the family come together to celebrate this precious couple.
A Dinner Party Wedding in Her Parents’ Backyard
On the big day, Maddie, the bride, surrounded herself with the warmth and support of her friends in the basement of her parents’ home. As she got dressed, her mom’s eyes filled with tears. Emotions ran high as she shared a special moment later with her dad and brother before meeting her groom in a private first look. The excitement continued to grow as everyone made their way to the prairie behind the couple’s church, where the ceremony would take place.
Nestled among beautiful trees, the couple exchanged vows in the perfect autumn weather. The picturesque backdrop of colorful fall foliage added to the enchantment of the moment. After the ceremony, we captured stunning portraits of the newlyweds, using the vibrant colors of the season as nature’s canvas.
Then, back at the bride’s parents’ home, the celebration continued with a dinner party wedding reception. Guests were treated to cardamom buns and a delightful coffee cart for the happy hour. Dinner took place under a charming tent bathed in the golden hour sun, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The joyful ambiance filled the air as the couple and their loved ones ate, drank, prayed, and celebrated together.
A cozy evening under twinkle lights and starry night skies
After dinner, we stole a few moments to capture breathtaking sunset portraits on the nearby golf course. The newlyweds reveled in the beauty of the fading light. As the evening progressed, laughter and conversations filled the air, with guests chatting late into the night. Card games and self-serve ice cream added to the cozy atmosphere long after the sun had set.
Finally, the couple’s magical backyard dinner party wedding came to an end with a dramatic sparkler exit. They sprinted the whole way through, stopping twice to steal kisses which made their guests clap and cheer. Amidst the streetlights and under the starry night sky, the newlyweds drove off, their faces glowing with happiness.
