As a wedding photographer, I’m honored to document the sweetest (and coolest) love stories at some of the best Minneapolis wedding venues! To aid in the planning process that I know can be draining at times, I’ve put together a list of my favorite venues to give you a starting point. I love working with couples who are open to planning a thoughtful celebration with their nearest and dearest, so all of these venues aim to facilitate a cozy, intimate, and romantic atmosphere!
Who’s down for a brewery wedding in Minneapolis? Bauhaus Brew Labs is perfect for a lively and laidback celebration. Known for its craft beers and colorful, artistic space, it offers both indoor and outdoor areas, making it ideal for larger groups while still maintaining an intimate feel. The staff are super friendly and accommodating, so you can depend on them to ensure your day goes off without a hitch. The space’s design allows for a seamless indoor/outdoor flow so your guests will feel connected without cramping anyone’s style!
For a more intimate and unique setting, Brother Justus is a fantastic choice. The distillery’s rustic charm and modern touches create a cozy, welcoming vibe for you and your crew. The venue is known for its handcrafted whiskey, so if you’re a spirits connoisseur, you’re gonna love what Brother Justus has to offer! The warm, ambient lighting and industrial chic decor make for both aesthetically pleasing and extra romantic vibes. The Cocktail Room features high ceilings and ample natural light, accommodating up to 200 guests. The outdoor Terrace provides a scenic setting overlooking Columbia Golf Course. And lastly, the Chapter Room, perfect for intimate weddings, includes views of the distillery operations. Each space offers a unique ambiance with flexible rental options and dedicated event staff!
Young Joni offers an eclectic and fun setting with incredible food and unique lighting that adds an artistic touch to your wedding theme (and photos!). The restaurant’s interior features a mix of modern and rustic elements, with warm lighting that creates a cozy atmosphere. The nostalgic “old school” photo booth and photo wall bring a playful vibe, making it a hit with your people. The wood-fired pizzas and inventive menu make for an unforgettable culinary experience, meaning your guests will be happy and well-fed
The venue features two main areas: the cozy back bar and the elegant main dining room. The back bar gives a rustic, nostalgic vibe with its vintage decor, ideal for cocktail parties! The main dining room, with its open and airy design, accommodates seated dinners and receptions. Both spaces offer customizable menus and the option for Chef Ann Kim to make a special appearance if you’re willing to splurge a little extra!
Sawyers on 5th has a spacious and more elegant environment with fantastic city views and iconic murals nearby. The venue features large windows that let in an abundance of natural light, which is especially great for indoor photos! The space is divided organically, creating comfortable areas for guests to mingle and flow. The versatility of the venue allows for a smooth transition from ceremony to reception, with lots of space for guests to relax during cocktail hour. The combination of urban charm and elegant design makes it one of the best choices for a sophisticated city wedding.
Can you tell I’m a huge fan of utilizing a restaurant space for your Minneapolis wedding venue? The Copper Hen Cakery + Kitchen is known for its delicious farm-to-table menu and cozy, intimate setting that makes everyone feel right at home. The bakery’s artisanal desserts and handcrafted dishes will most definitely be a hit on your big day!. The warm, inviting decor (we’re talking reclaimed wood and vintage accents!) will contribute to the romantic atmosphere for your Minneapolis wedding.
I had to include an option for couples who want a venue for their short and sweet elopement ceremony! The Minneapolis Courthouse is the perfect setting for that. The kind and accommodating judge prioritizes giving a personalized experience for each and every couple, making the ceremony heartfelt and intimate. The courthouse and surrounding government center have surprisingly picturesque spots for your elopement photos, including iconic city backdrops. The space around the courthouse has an urban historic vibe, so you can expect tons of character in your gallery!
At the end of the day, the most important thing about choosing a wedding venue is finding a space that you and your partner truly resonate with. So I invite you to thoroughly research these venues and figure out which one(s) stick out to you the most and go from there!

I'm a Minnesota wedding photographer. I am best known for my candid photos that showcase the truest spirits of you and the people you love. As a documentary wedding photographer, I give you space for uninterrupted moments to experience your event as it happens. Always present, but not intrusive. I am always on the move, working my way into the middle of the action as often as I stand back and observe. This approach results in a comprehensive gallery of images that honestly and wholeheartedly tell the story of your wedding day-- the story of how you love, who was there, and why it matters.
